What are your thoughts on mobile web surfing?

1. Start with careful consideration when selecting key terms that users will search on to find related content like yours. Then use those terms to guide the post and construction of your page. 

2. It is more likely that users will click a link from a search that matches what they are looking for. Choose the terms that best match the perception of the article you are posting. 

3. The meta-tag is a somewhat useful tool that when used accurately can prove to be useful for improving your search engine ranking for search results. Use the “description” meta-tag to give a compelling description that will draw users in for the search engine click.  When selecting this description make sure that the title and description attract interest but also fits the content of your site.   

4. Now the “keyword” meta-tag is used to list out key words that basically describe what your site has to offer. When choosing these keywords form a distinct list that relate to the specifics of your site, instead of using broad keywords.

The drawback to meta-tag keywords is that not all search engines recognize them! A brief history; meta-tags first came about sometime back in 1995 up until 1997 when the majority of search engines stop supporting the use of them.

Why did support die off? Abuse, webmasters learned that by stuffing loads of keywords into the meta-tag keyword allowed them to rank up in search engines.  However you should still continue to use them because, Yahoo and Ask still continue to support meta-tag keywords. (in more detail) 

    

5. Create a sitemap, with a link from your main page. Remember to keep maintain relevant text and links so that search engine crawlers can effectively follow your entire site for indexing.

6. When placing images remember to use the ALT text function. What is this? The alt attribute is defined in a set of tags (namely, img, area and optionally for input and applet) to allow you to provide a text equivalent for the object. This will help accommodate text browsers and improve the searchable text content of your site. HTML code: alt=”text here”.

7. Correspond link exchanges with webmasters and other content providers to build rich linkages between related sites.

“Link farms” create links between unrelated pages for no reason except to increase page link counts. Using link farms violates search engine guidelines and does not improve your page ranking. So, if you are a violator I recommend you stop.

When I first started out blogging I made a point to post everyday including weekends. Since then I have started a new blogging consistency of posting an article every three days.

The main difference I have noticed with this sites new blogging consistency is more reader comments per article. Has there been a change in traffic – no still consistent and rising daily.
 
What I’ve come to realize is blogging consistency is important but you do not have to pump out one to three articles daily in order to achieve higher comments, PR ratings, RSS subscriptions and site traffic.

The key to changing your site’s higher blogging consistency is substituting higher quality posts in place. What about reader expectation? If you’ve changed the frequency such as what I’ve done just be informative and let your readers know.

You want readers to visit your site daily and if you do not kill yourself posting daily you will lose regular daily traffic. The blogger fear that I have read on more than one site. A point that is true to a certain level but something that I do not buy into anymore.

My personal opinion now is that just one quality article will supersede 20 or even 1000 crap articles that you are posting five times a day and everyday of the week. Why is that? Simple with just one quality article you could possibly draw in the attention of 1000s of bloggers that will what – Link to the article.

Is blogging consistency important? Lose the high consistency and trade it in for high quality and rep the benefits of higher comments, RSS subscriptions, PR ratings and site traffic.   

Are you a page rank zero? Why? If you’re new I know you’ve asked me or other established sites how to increase your page rank.

Google Page Rank for a site is directly established in proportion to the number of links that point to it.  However, with that being said not all links are given the same weight. Google uses a complicated algorithm to determine and interpret the value of the link. The links are none as “Votes” that are analyzed and given weight with regards to the casting site’s importance (Page Rank). So why exactly do you want a Page Rank?

The simple idea behind Page Rank is that it gives importance to a particular page on the net based on the number of quality backlinks and then decides to send or not send traffic your way based off keyword searches. Listed below a few methods of how to increase your page rank:

Consistent Quality Content
Google loves great unique content and this will get you index much quicker especially if the articles contain strong keywords.  Do not confuse what I’ve just said because I’m not suggesting you write for Google/search engines and Page Rank. When writing your articles you should always write them the way you want to get your point across to readers and the Google indexing will come into play naturally.

Free Directory Submissions
Getting links from directories can have a tremendous effect on your PageRank since some are recognized as high authority (vote) sites.  There are few ways that you can go about this. You can pay people to submit your URL to select directories or you can submit yourself.

To submit to directories yourself I recommend a program called Directory Submitter Standard and it’s absolutely free unless you want to upgrade it for more directories. I’ve personally used the free version which allows you to submit to 350 directories and I found the process extremely easy.  Submit to over 2200 directories.

Review for BackLink
I started my review my blog 1st of March and since then I have completed 18 batches giving a total 180 backlinks from sites that reviewed my blog. As of the 17 batch I have discontinued the review for backlink.

Join Some Forums
Join forums that are relevant to your interest (post an article on how to increase your page rank), create a signature link using important keywords that are related to your site. Find topics that actually interest you, or areas where you can offer assistance. Post comments, without linking to your site, and rely on your signature link to do the rest. Note: some forums make you wait to add your signature link or have requirements in order to ad it.  

Link Exchange
Search out relevant websites, though not in direct competition to your own site, and request a link exchange. Webmasters will usually link to sites they have genuinely found themselves and have an interest in. Just ask, you don’t get anything if you don’t ask.

Blog Commenting – Dofollow
The dofollow wagon started back in April.  What the dofollow plugin does is remove the nofollow tag off the commenting section allowing readers to receive a full credit linkback.  This is great news because this means that every comment you make on a dofollow blog will now count as a linkback to your site.

To get you started I have found a list of 170 + blogs that dofollow including mine! The draw back to this is it will be a time consuming endeavor because when you leave a comment you should be sincere and leave something relative (not a spam comment)

Blog Carnivals
Blog carnivals are regular posts which gather articles on a given topic, submitted by their authors. Here’s how to get a blog carnival up and running: Sign up for a free account with BlogCarnival.com

Offer Content – Guest Author
Start contacting webmasters of sites that manage similar sites as you. Offer unique guest post articles in exchange for a link or links to your website. If you can write well, then you shouldn’t find it too difficult to find an opportunity for guest author work.

Press Release Submissions
Press releases have been around for ever, and still are going strong online. A press release offers the opportunity to drive interested traffic to your site. PRLeap and PRWeb are among two of many that I recommend if you decide to give it a shot.

A notebook with the idea of being entirely holographic when the screen is off it appears as clear glass. The keyboard is  extensive with a beautiful black shine and when you turn it on the keyboard, screen, mouse buttons are displayed as holograms.

Fortunately for my ego and my somewhat new Dell XPS the Vaio Zoom is a mere none working concept with no info on important tidbits and technical stats. Just a glimpse at the future of notebooks to come and I’m loving it!

 Yes this PC is available and from Sony’s new range of Vaio PC’s the L-Type. A desktop that has pure sexiness written all over it and it even comes with a Blu-Ray option. The top of the line is the LT with a 22 inch screen that is wall mountable and you can watch digital/analog TV on it. The LM is 19 inches and does digital TV, while the LJ is a 15.4-inch desktop model with a neat flip keyboard. They’re out in Japan on October 6 not sure about dates for other locations.
