Open Office is really pushing to have their open source software installed, as well. There has been quite a bit of news the last few weeks about this.

I have been writing updated post on this, since I like anything open source, or browser oriented and offered as online apps, like Google Pack, ZOHO, OmniDrive, Steekr, etc.

Yes it's great and slim and the reason why I went with my two laptops prior were a 15" and 17" and I wanted one that did weight as much as my desktop. I got my XPS M1210 configured with the built in camera and mic and is great with skupe when I need it. Also the graphics card in it is amazing, you would think being a 12" screen you would have a bit of trouble as far as room but it is perfect in my opinion. I love everything about this laptop the best that I've owned by far.

Thanks for the tip on Linux I actually was not aware of that fact.

I've been looking around here lately for a new laptop. I have a 15" widescreen that works perfectly and is very fast, but I really want a slim lappy, 12" screen and something like 3 pounds or less. I completely forgot to give Dell a look, thanks for the reminder!

I'm really impressed that dell is going to start selling machines with Linux installed. I've been waiting for a viable alternative on the PC to windows.
